I’m sorry I had to hide from you. I was involved with all the professors who fled and died that day. We were afraid I would be interrogated if I stayed and when I was found out you would suffer even though you knew nothing of my revolutionary feelings.

I’ve missed you all every single day and I’m sorry beyond what words can say about how I’ve hurt you in the last six months by being gone.

Mum, Do what you have to do to protect as many people in the family from as much harm as you can. I’ll do what I can.

Dad, Listen to your wife. While the future could be bright it won’t look the same as the past. The people you’ve pandered to at work can no longer protect you. In fact your relationship to them will hurt you in the eyes of too many. Do the best thing for your family and hide.

To Jaspar I’ll be there shortly. The kids I told you to listen to at the beginning of the year? Listen to them. Hide and be safe, help is coming.

If I haven’t had the chance to tell you this in person by the time you can read this, know that I loved you and cannot apologize enough that I had to miss you growing up. Be strong, be safe, work hard and treat everyone well.

Well, I am finally, finally home.

I have a massive training regime to follow over the next while. As well as appointments with various healers and specialists daily and sometimes twice daily over the next too weeks. Then we'll see which will be retained and which cut.

I look forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, being pampered by Mum and Jenni, maybe even woken up by the littles in the morning.

I would like to repeat my thanks for all the cards, gifts and well witches.

I'm sure that NEWTs went well for all my year mates and that OWLs continue to go well. I no everyone worked as hard as they could given hour trying circumstances.

I just wanted to remind you that I will be revising hard for most the holidays. I've scheduled a few group sessions with the Weasley twins. They will come over after lunch and we'll revise until dinner time. They won't be here much as they managed to find a tutor. I may go over to Tyche or Heph's to revise for some of the classes I don't share with the Weasleys, but we haven't worked out the details yet.

I know we discussed it by owl but I have meetings first thing in the morning on the 3rd, the 6th, the 9th and the 11th. Portkeys from the Arrows, Bats and Lethifolds should be arriving by owl soon. I'll just fly over for the tryouts for the Cannons.

While I will be unbelievably busy over the hols, I love the littles and want very much to meet and get to know little Lilith so I will make sure to carve out dedicated time to spend with them, but it's going to be less than I might wish. Though if Jaspar would like to sit with me and read quietly while I'm revising I would love that.

Thanks for the Nimbus Thunderhead 1. There have been hints in the Quidditch magazines over the last couple of months. Having a prototype of the newest top of the line broom is brilliant.

It really is the top of the line, most expensive, best broom in the game for what it does. It has the tightest turn radius, smartest acceleration and it’s the sturdiest they’ve ever made. The bludger protection charms are things of beauty. The strength and size of the head is wizard. I have no idea how Dad got ahold of it, it’s supposed to be out next month.

However, this all makes it the perfect Keeper’s broom. Even with my build as I’ve grown up and out, I’m still the Seeker on the house team. Which means I need a broom with graceful turns, stability, slenderness and flying above everything else high top speed.

I don’t want to pry but I know things have been tight since Shelley was born, you acquired the mudblood, the extension of the house, the improved floo connection and with Mum pregnant again. (Have you picked out names yet? Have the divinations come back yet on whether it’s a boy or girl yet?) The broom’s a thing of beauty, just gorgeous, but I have to ask for Jaspar, Shelley and incipient Diggory’s sakes, can you return it?

On top of whatever favours Dad called in to get it early, if you absolutely, positively, no question can afford that large a purchase, please floo and talk to me about it. Tonight if you can, I’ll be near the common room fire from after supper until after you normally go to bed, it’s an Astronomy night, so I'm up very late.
